Principal's Welcome

Hello, My name is Deborah Inglis and I am currently the acting Principal of Nathalia Primary School. We understand just how precious each and every child is and take great pride in working with parents to ensure that every child enjoys a highly successful primary education in a caring environment.

We  have a wonderful teaching and support staff,  an enthusiastic and supportive school community and best of all; fabulous children. Our school is a great place for children to learn and develop life long skills.

School Information
Nathalia Primary School is located in the Goulburn Valley 210 kilometres north of Melbourne, 45 kilometres north of Shepparton and 55 kilometres east of Echuca. The Nathalia District has a population of approximately 4300 people with dairy farming, cropping and grazing the main industries.

The school currently has an enrolment of 164 students. The school works co-operatively with other schools in the town and surrounding district.

There is strong community involvement and support for the school with parents encouraged to participate in all facets of the School’s program. Consultation and discussion play a key role in all decision making. Currently the School Council, which consists of 15 members, has four sub-committees covering finance, environment, grants and curriculum.

Nathalia Primary School believes that each child has the right to experience a safe and secure learning environment and is totally committed to offering programs that meet the needs of all children. Special needs programs for children with difficulties and extension programs for children with special interests and abilities are provided. The school’s Mission Statement is:

Nathalia Primary School is committed to providing students, staff and parents and the school community with a safe and purposeful environment where they value and enjoy learning for life in partnership with each other.

The school grounds are spacious and maintained by a dedicated and committed group of school councilors and parents. The school has a shaded school and community playground for student use and implements an approved School Council Sunsmart and Compulsory Uniform Policy.
